Free to Breathe Fashion

Life has a funny way of throwing curveballs when you least expect them. For me, the journey to creating Free to Breathe Fashion was a testament to that. It wasn't born out of a strategic business plan or a desire for fame. Instead, it emerged from a time of profound hopelessness, a journey of fertility struggles, and a desperate need for a creative outlet. This is the story of how a brand became more than just clothes—it became a symbol of resilience, hope, and the beautiful, messy chaos of life.

The Long Road to Motherhood

For what felt like an eternity, my world was consumed by the silent, draining battle of infertility. Every month was a cycle of hope and crushing disappointment. The emotional toll was immense, and I felt a part of myself fading away. I needed something to pour my energy into, something that could remind me of my own strength and creativity, even when my body felt like it was failing me.

I started sketching, designing, and dreaming. The idea was simple: create fashion that made women feel incredible. Not just beautiful, but confident, comfortable, and empowered. I wanted to design pieces that allowed a woman to walk into a room and feel like she could "Free to Breathe"—to exhale the stress of the day and embrace her true self.

This creative process became my lifeline. It was a way to channel the grief, frustration, and pain into something beautiful and positive. The designs were taking shape, the brand name was chosen, and the vision was crystal clear.

A Twist of Fate and a New Chapter

Just as I was deep into the ideation of Free to Breathe Fashion, a miracle happened. After years of trying, I found out I was pregnant. The joy was overwhelming, but it meant putting my brand on hold. My creative energy shifted from fabric and sketches to baby names and nursery decor. The universe had a different plan for me, and I embraced it with every ounce of my being.

The next few months were a whirlwind of pregnancy, birth, and the all-consuming love for my newborn son. But our journey was far from easy. Shortly after he was born, we discovered he needed heart surgery. The world stopped. My days were spent in hospitals, navigating the terrifying reality of a sick child. The brand I had once poured my heart into faded into the background as my focus narrowed to the one thing that mattered most: my son's health.

The strength I had found in my creative outlet was now tested in a different way. I had to be strong for him. I had to find a way to breathe through the fear and the unknown.

Getting Back to the Roots of the Brand

Thankfully, my son is now thriving. After months of recovery and finding our new normal, I felt that familiar creative pull again. The time was right to revisit my original dream. But this time, the brand had a new, deeper meaning.

Free to Breathe Fashion is no longer just about making women look and feel their best. It's now also a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. It's about finding hope in the darkest of times. It’s a celebration of every woman's unique journey—the struggles, the triumphs, the silent battles, and the miraculous moments.

Every piece you see from our collection is a part of this story. It's a reminder to "Free to Breathe"—to find your own source of strength, to celebrate your body, and to never give up on your dreams.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.

Free To Breathe And Fair Trade

Buying and selling. For many people around the world, trade exchanges are how they make a living. Because so many of these trades happen in places far distant from one another, however, most buyers never know anything about the person or place who made the product they’ve purchased. As a result, many manufacturers, particularly those in underdeveloped countries, pay wages too small to feed families and force working conditions both unhealthy and dangerous.

One of our aims at Free to Breathe is to close the gap between seller and buyer. Not only will we refuse to trade with manufacturers who practice substandard working conditions, we will introduce you, whenever we can, to the people who design and manufacture, many times by hand, the products we offer for sale. Our aim is to humanize the business of buying and selling. That way, we can all breathe easier.

Fashion And The Environment

The fashion industry produces 10 % of the world’s carbon emissions. 85% of the textiles produced end up in landfills. The washing of some fabrics sends billions of bits of plastic into the world’s oceans. You don’t think that the clothes you wear can make a long term impact? Think again. At Free to Breathe, we have.

Using natural fibers-cotton, linen, wool, flax, silk, bamboo-reduces the amount of plastics shed into water sources. Supporting sustainable brands, that is, those that employ clean energy practices and source eco-conscious materials, removes some of the hidden environmental costs from fashion purchases. Upcycling and recycling fabrics that would otherwise end up in a trash dump into new garments produces fashion that is not only useful, but beautiful. At Free to Breathe, we don’t only want to bring you smart fashion, we want to help clean up our world.

Clothes That Love You Back

Finding something to wear. For the young and slim, there are lots of choices. For the rest of us, not so much. Vanity sizing that labels with smaller numbers but the same proportions doesn’t help. Neither do straight, clingy dresses or jeans with such a low rise that you’re constantly pulling them up. It doesn’t have to be like this. After all, clothes aren’t made just to cover you up. They are supposed to make you feel beautiful.

At Free to Breathe, we get it. Our clothes are made for real women who want to wear something they can live with, comfortable and flattering, well made and in styles that last. You won’t find passing trends here, just styles for women who want to look and feel good, who want clothes that reflect comfort and confidence. These are clothes for those of us who are tired of trying to fit into someone else’s idea of beautiful and who want to be free. Free to Breathe.
